OTIE Earns NAVFAC STAR Award for Excellence in Safety

In 2012, the Department of the Navy selected Oneida Total Integrated Enterprises, LLC (OTIE) to receive the ROICC San Francisco Bay, Safety Through Awards and Recognition (STAR) Safety Excellence Award for outstanding safety awareness during execution of the Air Sparging/Soil Vapor Extraction (AS/SVE) Remedial Action at SWMU 2, 5, 7, and 18 at the Former Naval Weapons Station, Concord, CA. The STAR award recognizes the OTIE Project Team for outstanding safety performance during field execution and in protecting field personnel and subcontractors while delivering 11,300 safe work hours.

For this $5M contract task order, OTIE constructed a 15-acre landfill cover; installed and maintained storm water and erosion controls; and restored the site. This challenging construction project featured multiple stakeholder needs and unexpected site conditions caused by discovery of buried munitions that required significant design modifications to ensure safety and avoidance of MEC materials. OTIE earned an Exceptional overall CPAR performance evaluation, including exceptional ratings for safety and quality of services.

The STAR Safety Award is a notable achievement and awarded only to those companies which have demonstrated a corporate proactive safety posture throughout the life of their contract.

At OTIE, we continually strive to demonstrate our commitment to keep safety as our number one priority while delivering a quality product on time and within budget. Our project team in Walnut Creek, Ventura, and San Diego embodies that commitment and has met the high standards of the NAVFAC Southwest and ROICC San Francisco Bay for jobsite safety.
