OTIE Project Improves Thornberry Creek Golf Course for LPGA Tournament Success

As a prime contractor to the Oneida Nation, OTIE completed Phase 1 (site development) and Phase 2 (construction) of the $1.6M in improvements to the Thornberry Creek at Oneida Golf Course Facility to accommodate the 2017 LPGA Classic held in early July. The LPGA tournament was held at Thornberry Creek at Oneida, and it drew thousands of visitors for the weeklong event. OTIE provided design and construction management services for site improvements, locker room expansion, bar renovations, and installation of a new elevator. For golf course support facilities, we enlarged the parking lots and coordinated with the golf course architect to increase the size of the driving range and multiple practice greens. The renovations created additional parking, a larger pond capacity, and upgrades to the lighting and landscaping. OTIE worked with the Town of Oneida, the Village of Hobart, the golf course architect, and the Oneida Nation to successfully execute the project.

OTIE completed all improvements within the scheduled timeframe to meet the needs of 144 LPGA professionals participating in the tournament on July 3rd-9th. Oneida ESC Group, OTIE’s parent company, participated in the event as a tournament partner offering retired and reserve military veterans complimentary tickets during the week of the tournament along with a private hospitality area to view tournament competition with fellow veterans.

OTIE will work with Thornberry Creek to complete Phase 3 which will include design and construction of a new cart storage facility.
