Construction and DemolitionOTIE performed demolition of historic facilities (some Civil War vintage) following severe hurricane damage, preserved unique historically-significant archeological finds, recycled scrap metals, and constructed artificial reefs with recycled concrete demolition material through close coordination with the Coastal Conservation Association of Alabama. Over 4,800 tons of the waste generated from demolition was reused or recycled.
Additional incidental work included in situ soil treatment to immobilize lead (to eliminate the RCRA characteristic for hazardous waste under TCLP) and soil removal, lead and asbestos abatement, and new utilities piping design and construction.
