Chilled Water System Modification, Buildings 3291 and 3909, NAS Pensacola, FL
|OTIE provided design and construction for mechanical and electrical systems to maximize chiller plant efficiency by installation of state-of-the-art electromechanical equipment, sensor technology, incorporation of DDC control points, and modification of control algorithms.
OTIE was tasked to maximize chiller plant efficiency at Buildings 3909 and 3291 at NAS Pensacola. OTIE replaced one 500 ton chiller with two new 500 ton oil-less centrifugal chillers; retrofitted cooling towers for variable flow conditions; replaced water pumps; upgraded and integrated the DDC system; and performed commissioning. We also provided real time status of the plants’ chilled water production efficiency, via the DDC system.
At Building 3909, OTIE replaced the existing 500 ton water chiller CH-1 with two (2) new 500 ton magnetic bearing, oilless centrifugal water chillers. We retrofitted the cooling towers’ hot decks for variable flow conditions. We provided a new chilled water flowmeter and delta-T sensors for each new chiller and all three existing chillers to monitor chilled water energy generation and report to the DDC system.
At Building 3291, OTIE retrofitted two of the cooling towers’ hot decks for variable flow conditions. We also replaced the two existing chilled water pumps with three new chilled water pumps.
