Structural Design for the UW-La Crosse Scoreboard, Division of State Facilities, LaCrosse, WI
IES_UW-LaX-Scoreboard_P1030822For the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, OTIE provided project management and structural engineering for design of a new LED scoreboard for the Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. In addition, we provided design for replacement of four other scoreboards throughout the campus serving Women’s Soccer, Women’s Softball, Men’s Baseball, and the Natatorium.

The football stadium scoreboard is 36 feet wide by16 feet tall and has access platforms at three different levels for maintenance through the back of the scoreboard and a platform area for two manned cameras on the top. The scoreboard is supported 14 feet above the ground and was designed with hollow steel structural sections and bearing on drilled pier foundations.

The design of the new football scoreboard allowed for the use of the existing scoreboard while the new scoreboard was being erected and commissioned as fully operational prior to the first home game of the 2013 season.
